Dear Community Members,
We are all aware of the ongoing dire situation in Nepal due to COVID. As Indiana Nepali Community have done in the past during such crises as Earthquake 2015, we will need to once again get together to help our brothers and sisters back home in these unprecedented times. The action we take together as a community will literally save lives. So please join this collaborative effort of the Nepalese Association of Indiana (NAI) & Non-Resident Nepali Association - Indiana Chapter and donate funds to help fight COVID in Nepal. How can you donate the funds?
Please write Nepal COVID Donation in the Check & Zelle Memo. How will the collected funds be utilized? - Currently, we have identified two main options and still working through the details. The options are; 1. Working with HTCI temple Indiana to procure Oxygen Concentrators. If procured, the concentrators will be shipped to Nepal & we will work with organizations like Health Foundation Nepal (HFN) or National Innovation Center (NIC) to see where they can be best used. 2. If unable to procure Oxygen Concentrators or the remainder of the funds, it will be directly donated to National Innovation Center (NIC) led by Mahabir Pun. They have been fighting on the ground since the beginning of the pandemic. Please find how NIC is fighting COVID here; https://nicnepal.org/news-and-publications/our-fight-against-covid-19 Because time is of the essence, we wanted to start the fundraising campaign while we work together with members of our community to work out the details. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or any other ideas. This is our collaborative effort and any/all ideas are welcome. Lastly, we would like to assure the members of our community that every penny donated will be used for the fight against COVID. We will be transparent as always and keep you updated throughout the process. *We will include your name and donation in excel a spreadsheet that we will make public. Please write “Remain Anonymous” in the memo if you would like to remain Anonymous.* -Nepalese Association of Indiana (NAI) & Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA)- Indiana Chapter ***APPEAL TO ALL COMMUNITY MEMBERS***

Message From The President![]() Greetings and Namaste, I am greatly humbled and thankful to the founding members, former officials, members, including lifetime members of Nepalese Association of Indiana (NAI) and all Nepalis residing in the state of Indiana for believing in me to serve as the 6th President of Nepalese Association of Indiana (NAI). I am honored to be a part of NAI, a non-profit social organization, which was established in 2010, with a sole purpose of serving the Nepali community living in Indiana. NAI aims to preserve and promote Nepali culture, and foster friendship among the people of Nepali origin, and their friends. It provides a platform for everyone to share and express their talent, views and ideas thereby bringing all those interested in Nepali culture and tradition together. I am looking forward to keeping this tradition as well as finding new ways to serve the community better. The next two years comes as an opportunity and as a challenge for myself and the executive team as we pursue to bring programs that will benefit our community and pursue the goal of NAI. We all have witnessed the difficulty of carrying out our activities because of Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, however, with the invention of the vaccine, in the upcoming year, I hope NAI will be able to execute its events and activities as in previous years. I look up to our great leaders and community members for their help and support. The executive team is just a representative and a temporary caretaker of the organization. It is all of us who make NAI complete. With the active participation of each and every Nepali living in Indiana, the existence of NAI becomes more fruitful and meaningful. I request each of you to participate, and get involved in all the activities. Together we can accomplish a lot and make a difference in our community. Regards, Anju Bhattrai President – 2021/2022 Nepalese Association of Indiana (NAI)
